Hi Patricia, Sorry, I did not respond sooner to your posting. (The old Mac died & I had to transfer & translate records.) There appears to be a connection between my family & the McGLINN family -- just what the connection is I have not figured out as, yet. Maybe you can help! :) I have a Mary BURNS - BYRNES - BEIRNE, b. 1802-1811 from Parish Kilmore, Co. Roscommon. She m. a James NORTON abt. 1827 in Ireland. They immigrated to the US bef. 1848 & settled in Reading, Berks Co., PA. Their daughter Bridge NORTON b. Mar 1833 in Parish Kilmore, m. Thomas McENTAGGART-McINTYRE in St. Peter's R C Church in Reading. A few years after Bridget was widowed, she & some of her children moved to Chester, Delaware Co., PA & became members of Immaculate Heart of Mary. Now to get to the McGLINNs, they, also, appear in Reading, Berks Co., PA, at about the same time the BURNS-NORTON Family does. (Francis McGLINN & his wife Elizabeth GARVIN.) Their first child born here, was a son John, b. 6 Sep 1847 & bapt. 23 Sep 1847 at St. Peter's R C Church in Reading. Bapt. sponsors: Luke SWEENY & Ellen DUNN. They may have had a son Jacob-James b. in Ireland. (I have more info on their children, etc., if you would like it.) The McGLYNN's son Francis, also, relocates to Chester, Delaware Co., PA & is m. to a Margaret CALL, at Immaculate Heart of Mary on 30 Nov 1879. Marriage witnesses are: Henry HENRY & Patricia McKERICK, (McCURNIN?). In Reading, a Margaret McGLINN was a sponsor for a child born to John & Elizabeth (McINTYRE) SMITH. I think there were other connection, too, but I can't think of them at this time. The 2 familes united with the marriage of Mary Catherine Byrnes and Joseph Aloysius McCurnin in late 1880's in New Jersey. Any help appreciated. Patricia Snyder >>
