The Tithe Applotment Survey ran from about 1823 to 1837. I do not believe they are on line anywhere. I did some research at the National Library in Dublin, but that was very cumbersome. I also used a service in Dublin to do some searches for me. Their website is www.eneclann.ie. Or you can write them at info@eneclann.i.e. Jackie Fran Weeks wrote: > Can anyone tell me how to go about locating the Tithe Book for the Boyle area of County Roscommon? > Like most of you, I am on an ancestor hunt and have been advised that to move past my brick wall(s), I should look at the tithe book that dates back to the 1820s. Fran: Many of the Tithe Applotments are available on microfilm from the Family History Center in Salt Lake City. Unfortunately, the one I was interested in -- Drumcliffe Parish in Sligo, was apparently never done, or was not sent to Dublin, because all there is in the Sligo film is an exchange between Sligo and Dublin over the missing data!
