Dear Friend, I have Farry information that may be of interrest to you. Mary K. Gaffney of Derreenavicara Townland, Keadue, Kilronan Civil Parish, just a mile or two north of Cootehall, married Michael Farry on January 12 1928 in the Keadue Catholic Church. Mike Farry was born april 30 1895 on the Moigh Townland, which is just a short distance from Cootehall Village. He died in 1960, in a drowning accident in/near Cootehall. Mary K (Gaffney) Farry is my mother's sister (my aunt). Mike and Mary K had three children (my cousins). One still lives on the Moigh Townland. I had dinner at his house about five years ago. Hi George, I think we've chatted before, although I didn't know you had Farrys. We were in Moigh in 2000, and visited a couple of the neighbors - too bad I didn't know about your cousin then. Michael Farry (b. 1895) was probably an ancestral relative of Frances Farry who married Thomas Muldowney in 1850. I imagine she was born about 1830. The marriage record doesn't have her parents of course, but the witnesses were Joseph Farry and Elizabeth Farry. John Farry was the only farmer there at the time of the Tithes. In Griffiths' valuation, John Farry was still there with house, office & land. Joseph Farry had land only. Frances died in Sandusky Ohio about 1855-1856 after her 5th child, Elizabeth, was born. Don't know too much more about her. Does your cousin in Moigh have any interest in his family history? Have you met Paddy Tansey on your visit(s) there?
