    1. [ROSCOMMON] Michael Flynn
    2. Hello, I first want to thank Janet for the lookup she did for me on Michael Flynn. I know she has been more than kind ,the word gracious comes to my mind. Thank you . I am sure one of these Michael Flynns is mine. Secondly to George I wish I could help you with your Michael Flynn, but presently I do not know much about my Flynn family. Most of what I know about my Michael Flynn is just passed down information. One thing I do know is that my Flynn family resided in the Grange,Ballinlough area of Roscommon. My grandmother used to have a picture of a school in Grange,Ballinlough that she said hher father attended. the school was a big stone building ,may of been a catholic school near a church. another picture she had was of the Flynn home in grange,Ballinlough it was a brown stone house with a nice flower garden surrounded by hedges of boxwood. These pictures were probably taken in late 1960s. My grgrandfather went to U.S.A. abt. 1881 or so,possibly along with his brother or cousin Cornelius Flynn. Some of my grgrandfathers siblings stayed in Ireland ,some went to the midwest (Iowa, this is my line) and one went to South Africa. This I know from my greatgrandfather Michael Flynns obituary,1930s.Sadly the obituary did not give any siblings first names. I had a great aunt Frances Flynn ( a school teacher) of Soldier,Iowa; South Bend,Indiana and Omaha,Nebraska who kept in touch with the Flynns in Ireland back in the 1950s , 1960s and 1970s,and maybe earlier. She visited the Flynn family in Roscommon, Ireland many times. Now when I need answers to my questions she has passed away,so I must start my Flynn research from scratch. If this sounds familiar to any Flynn researcher out there please e-mail me. [email protected] Cheryl Gauthier-Williams Thank you very much.

    3. Hello Cheryl, It all sounds familiar to me, the problems anyway. I suppose we should take heart from another Celt, Robert the Bruce. (if at first.....) Though I was once watching a little spider casting a web, probably for about five minutes, then, from somewhere, I don`t know where a big spider came down and trussed the little beggar up for it`s next meal. Is there an omen here. I don`t know. This is me wandering off at a tangent, and not Robert the Bruce. I suppose we`ll have all the answers one day, though I`m in no mad rush to know everything, just Michael FLYNN born circa 1863 in Roscommon and Maria QUINN born circa 1861 in Tipperary or Cork, that`ll do me for now. Good Hunting. George Carter
