Janet - Let me add my thanks for what you've been doing for all of us and now: Would you please search your Roscommon records for SHRYAN et al. My grandmother, Mary SHRYAN, father Peter, a farmer in Currinah Roscommon married Thomas GALLAGHER, father Thomas, farmer in Fauleens Mayo Feb 17, 1900 in RC Chapel in Carracastle Mayo. Fauleens and Currinah are three miles apart with Carracastle in between, a little over one-half mile from the Roscommon border. Mary's name is also shown In other records as SHREHAUN and SHREHANE. Mary born c1873 is oldest of six children that I know of. Her siblings are Ann, Catherine, Ellen, Delia and Patrick. Several emigrated to the US where their name became RYAN. I've been told that SHRYAN is the same as RYAN. I'd be interested if you find any use of RYAN mixed in with SHRYAN in any of your records in the old country. I realize their baptism records and father Peter's marriage are probably recorded in the Carracastle Mayo church, but would you take a look, please. By the way, did you ever get to Cloongee?
