Many thanks to Janet for the work she is doing with her posting`s, with her help, I think I`ve narrowed my search for Michael FLYNN to 3 baptism`s in the year 1866. My question now, is if I were to view the baptism`s on film at a L.D.S. centre would I learn anymore than I already know? i.e. father`s occupation or village born maybe. Any help always appreciated. The only extra you can be sure of getting is the names of sponsors, aka Godparents. That can sometimes be useful in pointing up connections between people (or the lack of them). You will usually get the mother's maiden name. A location for where the parents live is sometimes given but the practice varied very much from parish to parish. Father's occupation is rarely given at this date in my experience. It was more common earlier in the century.
