By the way, I am trying to confirm my G/Grandfather's, Jeremiah/Darby/Dermit Sheerin/Sheeran, family. He was born between 1830-1840 in Doon, Boyle, Co. Roscommon. He married Jane McDermott, born around 1840. I suspect that Jane's family lived in a nearby village/town in Co. Sligo. That being the case, then Jane would have gone back to her parents house to have her 1st born child, which was a custom then. In addition, the 1st born would have been baptized also in the local church in Co. Sligo. Which I suspect may have been my Grandfather Jeremiah(Darby/etc) Sheerin, born around 1870. I know that most of their other children would have been born in Doon and baptized in St. Joseph's RC church in Boyle. Anything you can send me on my family research would be greatly appreciated.
