My great-grandfather Michael Oates married Catherine Moffett. The Oateses lived near Frenchpark in Roscommon. They were probabIy born aound 1825. I have a Maria Oates that was born around 1791 at a place or town near Althone, Roscommon..She married Thomas Duggan(not sure where he was born) or when they were married and as far as we figured out and also there was an newspaper article about her living to be over 100 years of age in the Iowa paper...She said they came to the United States around 1850 with 4 children,Thomas Jr,Catherine,Michael,Mary Ann(My Great Grandmother) and these children we have found out were Bapisted in the St. Peters Parish....
