Many thanks, Jack, for those Parkes names, they are new to me. They will serve as another avenue to explore in what seems like an endless search for my Roscommon heritage. I have traced it to an ancestor, Robert Parke, who leased and later bought land from Robert Sandford in Cloonree, Castlerea in March 1734. The backwards trail ends there -- I have been unable to find where this Robert Parke came from or who were his parents. I have a suspicion he was related to the Parkes families of Dunally, Co. Sligo but have located no documentation. Also, I have many Park/e/s in counties Sligo, Leitrim and even Donegal but none fits. I appreciate your help. Patrick
