    2. Ken-- I'm still here too, after all these years. I wonder if you know about the microfilm that the LDS have for the Keadue Catholic Church. I don't remember the film number but it was something like #1279224. It had baptismal and marriage records that began about 1827. I don't know about the church in Ballyfarnon, but I would bet that the Moromon's would have it too. And Drumshanbo is not too far away, and may have some information for you. Also, a few of my Gaffneys crossed the River Feorish, which separates Kilronan and Ardcarn Civil Parishes, and they married gals from the Cootehall area. The Cootehall Church records began in 1843. Hope some of this turns out to be helpful to you. Best, George Hoyt ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

    2. Hello George, I'm glad you are still there George! You have responded every time I've posted, and I use your energy and enthusiasm for the genealogy hunt when my own starts to wane. I checked that LDS microfilm, along with another one, about 5 years ago; maybe I should give them another go, as the handwritten records can tire one out quickly. I've managed to accumulate quite a few BENSON & variants' records from those two films, plus Griffiths' and other land record lists. What I haven't been able to do is connect them with my James Benson (abt 1834-1917) and his brother John (abt 1830-1910). The church records for Kilronan Parish for the years 1829-1835 don't exist and this would be where their births would be. I have had some contact with some nice current Bensons in the area of Keadue and Ballyfarnon, but they don't have information beyond their own great-grandparents. I've had a few interesting leads, but nothing has connected perfectly with my "puzzle". Take care, George.
