Roscommon, > Ohio USA Bill, I'm responding to your query, but I'm sure this is a very long shot... Our relative, great, great uncle (or so) THOMAS MULDOWNEY was married in Ardcarn parish in 1850. (to Frances Forry by the way.) They immigrated and settled in Sandusky, Ohio, USA. Frances died about 1856, and Thomas remarried shortly thereafter, ANN BRUEN. I don't know that she was born in Co. Roscommon, only Ireland for sure. Born about 1834, daughter of ANDREW BRUEN. Ann died in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1919. Her children were Ann (aka Emma), Timothy, Henry, Andrew, Sarah and Joseph Muldowney. Ken-- I'm still here too, after all these years. I wonder if you know about the microfilm that the LDS have for the Keadue Catholic Church. I don't remember the film number but it was something like #1279224. It had baptismal and marriage records that began about 1827. I don't know about the church in Ballyfarnon, but I would bet that the Moromon's would have it too. And Drumshanbo is not too far away, and may have some information for you. Also, a few of my Gaffneys crossed the River Feorish, which separates Kilronan and Ardcarn Civil Parishes, and they married gals from the Cootehall area. The Cootehall Church records began in 1843. Hope some of this turns out to be helpful to you.
