Message to Fran Weeks: Patrick Nafin (Naphan) married Mary Byrne from Boyle and emigrated to Canada in Ontario in 1842. In the same area of Read, ON there was and still are a group of descendents of the Lynch clan. Most of the "Nafins" were tenant farmers on the land of Viscount Lorton in the townlands of Deerpark,Shegorrey just outside Boyle. The parish church for these people seems to be St. Joseph's Boyle and the transcriptions are available from LDS Salt Lake, all in latin. Thanks very much, Jan. I really appreciate the information. I wish I'd paid closer attention in my high school Latin classes.
