Hi Patty, Have we been in touch before about our O'Beirne ancestors? Mine were from Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland. I have quite a lot of information about O'Beirnes from this area, which I would be happy to relay to you if we have not exchanged information before and if you are interested Regards, Fran Weeks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patty O'Beirne" <po610@wowway.com> To: <roscommon@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 03, 2008 3:58 PM Subject: [ROSCOMMON] Changes? > Has there been a change I may have missed? The other Roscommon list, IRL-Roscommon, hasn't been very busy either. I guess no one has anything new to offer. Jack
Neither have I. Is this mail list still working? George **************Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. (http://music.aol.com/grammys/pictures/never-won-a-grammy?NCID=aolcmp003000000025 48)

I just received a death record for BRIDGET (McLOUGHLIN) MULDOWNEY. According to it, her parents were JOHN McLOUGHLIN and KATE (CATHERINE) GAFFENEY. Just wondered if anyone is interested in her; or might help me with where she exactly she came from. She married John Muldowney in ARDCARNE R.C. parish in April 1945, and they immigrated to the Boston area pretty soon after that. I know she had a sister ANN (McLOUGHLIN) BEATIE. Witnesses at the Muldowney-McLoughlin wedding were JOHN McGEE and ANNA LEVY. Thanks. Loree Muldowney
George, I have been wondering about your Kelly ancestors in Roscommon. My grandmother, married to my grandfather, Charles Parkes of Cloonree, parish of Kilkeevin, Co. Roscommon. Her maiden name was Catherine (Kitty) Kelly and she appears with her mother and her son, my father Thomas Parkes, in the 1901 Irish Census for Ballindrumlea, parish of Kilkeevin. I know there are scads of Kellys in Co. Roscommon. Still, is it possible there is a connection with your Kelly ancestors? Thank you for your response. Patrick Parkes Corpus Christi, Texas

Hello to the List I am trying to find out anything I can on my Peter Hanley. In 1851 he is living in County Durham, in Crook and Billy Row, with his wife Ellen, with an age listed as 35. They are both listed as being from Ireland. On the 1871 census for County Durham, he lists his county of birth as Roscommon. Ellen's place of birth is not a recognized county in Ireland. On the 1891 census, he is a widower whose age is listed as 70. Children's names known so far are Mary Jane, Ellen, Catherine, Bridget and Ann. They were all born in County Durham. Grandchildren with the Hanley surname are Thomas, Eliza, William and Catherine. Much thanks for any and all assistance that can be given. Beth in Ontario, Canada
