Reposting interests: Now that so many people are paying attention, I would like to repost my BENSON roots in Roscommon. My great-grandfather, James BENSON, and his brother, John, emigrated from Roscommon to Canada in the 1850's. They were from the Keadue village area. One of the film`s you mention, covers the year`s, 1816 -1864. I`m not totally familiar with Irish records, but i understood you could`nt find any records back as far as 1816 for Ireland. Hello Fellow listers I am a fairly new researcher and would like to ask for help. I am seeking the birth and marriage details of my Ggrandfather Thomas Madden born circa 1849 and my Ggrandmother Margaret Kelly born circa 1855.They appear on the 1901 census with their children residing in the townland of Dunmurraghoe Co Roscommon.All childrens births were registered in Strokestown.It is my belief that they were both born in Co Roscommon,Galway or Offaly.
