    3. Hi John and any other Byrne researcher, I have a Michael Byrne of Kilmacumsey, Roscommon. He had a daughter Anne born about 1849, who married John Elwood born about 1845, of Annaghmore, Roscommon. They had daughters Bridget, Mary and Theresa. They then left Annaghmore for Liverpool, England and had more children. If anyone has any information about any of these people I would love to hear from you. Therese.

    2. John Sheerin
    3. Janet, Thank you very much on the bio's of Darby Sheerin and Jane McDermott's children. I didn't have a John Sheerin being born in 18 June 1858. However, he may have died at an early age, for I have a John Sheerin being Baptized in 1871! I didn't have a Jane Sheerin, and she also may have died at an early age? You also confirmed Margaret, Michael, Terrance, and Mary, my Grandaunt, whom I met in Lowell MA in the late 1940's. I believe you helped me solve a little family mystery. I have twin sisters and my mother said there were no twins on her side of the family. My father didn't know of twins, but he thought some where in his Sheerin family there were twins. It appears that the Jane Sheerin, born June 1865 you sent me is a twin to James Sheerin, BAP 01 June 1865 in St. Joseph's RC Church Boyle! I also believe the other two Sheerin families you sent me, Dominic and Eugene are Darby Sheerin's cousins. Janet, thanks again for your research and keep up the good work. Jake Sheerin

    1. Re: [ROSCOMMON] Kellys of IL
    2. Cheryl, Yes.....My Kelly's DID go to Galena in Jo Daviess Co!! Family lore has them (or at least the Murray-Kelly family) coming thru New Orleans, too....but I can't seem to connect them on any particular ship. That darn Kelly name is so common...even in Galena and Jo Daviess Co. I DO have some info on the Kelly's from Galena and lots of photos from cemetery's there. And....I know of someone else who has ties to other Kelly's in the area. Sorry....Don't know your Boyle-Flynn-Tracy-McCormack clan from there. By the way....my relatives who went to Rutland (Finnerty/Coggins from Co Sligo) went thru the post of Boston, too!!! I don't have much information on Elizabeth, but am still searching. I do know Lawrence's parents were Martin Hester and Mary Owens. Could Elizabeth be one of your Beirne's? Thanks, Peg Heidel

Also looking for a Timothy GLENNON who married a Nancy GALVIN/GLAVIN? They had a daughter, Winifred/Winnie, born about 1862, who married the above Thomas. Thank you. Linda in Florida

That can sometimes be useful in pointing up connections between people (or the lack of them). You will usually get the mother's maiden name. A location for where the parents live is sometimes given but the practice varied very much from parish to parish. Father's occupation is rarely given at this date in my experience. It was more common earlier in the century.
