I started trying to find out about Charles a couple of years ago. I completely gave up as it was SO frustrating!!! I just recently started looking again and am finding myself getting frustrated again! :) Here's what I'm trying to find: Where in England Charles and Ann came from, what ship they came over on (I'm beginning to think they swam!!!), and where they are buried. I'm also trying to find information about their son Charles. I would love to know where he is buried also. I know that he was born in 1758 in Dinwiddie, VA and that he died in 1837 in the same place. He was married to Elizabeth Butler. Here is how I am connected: Basically just follow the Charles' down. Charles b. in 1720 in England had a son Charles born in 1758 VA who had a son Charles born in 1787 VA. He had a son Marcus Lindsey Roper born in 1825 TN. Marcus had a son Edgar Newton Roper (twin of Edwin Jasper Roper) born in 1870 TN. Edgar's son was Edwin Justin Roper born in 1907 Hopkinsville, Ky. E.J. was my grandfather. Someone has said that he passed away in Hopkinsville, but he actually passed away in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He is buried in the Springfield Township cemetery in Mongo, IN. This cemetery is only 3 miles from my house! E.J. had only one child, my father Bobby Edwin Roper. If anyone has any more information, I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks so much!
