Emma is then shown to be Widowed. But though husband Charles is NOT present, she is shown to be married in 1910. I am trying to pick up the trail of Charles ROPER, son of James Henry ROPER (b abt 1834 - VA), of Columbus, OH. Please see my Post: "James Henry ROPER (b abt 1834 - VA), of Columbus, OH" (3 Mar 2003 8:19 AM GMT) http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=message&r=rw&p=surnames.roper&m=461.1.1 In 1880, James Henry ROPER's son Charles ROPER, age 15, appears to be enumerated in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. (see LDS Family History Library Film 1255004, National Archives Film T9-1004, Page 51D). This is the LAST good fix I have on him. ANd I find NO Charles ROPERs born in Michigan in either the 1870 OR the 1880 Census enumeration. I am wondering if the family had the place of birth of Charles ROPER WRONG and that the Charles ROPER married to Emma might have actually been born in Ohio. His PARENTS ARE shown to be born in Ohio. Is anyone familiar with this family? Does anyone know the date and place of death of this Charles ROPER?? Does anyone know what became of Earl ROPER or Lyle ROPER?
