So far I have seen no evidence to the contrary. I believe the Thomas ROPER who was detained for a while in the Beauchamp Tower of the Tower of London and who carved his name on the walls there, was the the same person. His detention and interrogation may have been prompted by evidence supplied by George ELLIOT the priest hunter and betrayer of Father Edmund CAMPION.
