And that it be further certified that it appears to the satisfaction of the Bourt by the testimony of Geo. Hubbard ... And that Henry ROPER, a man of dark complexion, aged 21 years, 5 feet eight inches high, scar on teh right hand near the little finger & one on the right leg." Feb 16, 1826. [This Henry ROPER seems to have been born abt 1805.] * "Ordered that it be certified that it appears to the satisfaction of the Court by teh testimony of Benj. H. LADD that Joseph ROPER, a man of brown complexion, about 21 years old, five feet 6 1/2 inches high, small scar on the right wrist was born free in the County of Henrico." Dec 21, 1826 [This Joseph ROPER appears to have been born abt 1805.] * "Ordered that it be certified that it appears to the satsifaction of the Court by the affirmation of John BELL that Edward ROPER, son of William ROPER decd, a lad of dark complexion, 21 years old in June last, 5' 63/4 inches high, scar over the right eye in the edge of the eye brow & one on the first joint of the left thumb, was born free in this county." Sept. 19, 1833. [This Edward ROPER appears to have been born in June 1812.] * "Ordered that it be certified that it appears to the satisfaction of the Court ... And by the testimony of James R. ROPER that Thomas CAMBER, son of John, a bright mulatto man, straight hair about 21 years old, 5 feet 11 1/2 inches high, scar on left thumb & one on left arm just above the wrist & 1 or two on middle right finger was born free in this County." Sept 17, 1835 * "Ordered that it be certified that it appears to the satisfaction of the Court by the testimony of James R. ROPER that Susanna CHARITY, daughter of James CHARITY, a mulatto woman 17 years old in April last, 5 feet 4 1/2 inches high, small scar on the chin rather to the left, and that the register of the same Susanna is correctly made -- the said Sussanna was born free in this County."
