It is unclear why she is shown as a "Boarder" in the 1900 Census record. One possibility that must NOT be discounted is the possibility that Bettie G., shown to be age 7 and born Jan 1893, and Vergie, shown to be age 16 in 1910 are one and the same child. Given the appearance of other errors in the 1900 Census record this does NOT seem to be far fetched.
