She seems to be roughly the same age as teh Elizabeth Ann who appeared in teh 1870 enumeration, but it is unclear how one gets Caroline from Elizabeth Ann. And her appearance AFTER the other children is suggestive that her relationship is different. She may have been an adopted orphan. * Edward ROPER's household has thinned considerably by 1900. Wife Rebecca seems to be gone and probably has therefore died between 1893 and 1900. However, Rebecca ROPER reappears in the 1910 and 1920 Census records. There she is shown to be a widow and Edward is gone from the household I will endeavor to Post these additional records in a subsequent Post. * Is anyone acquainted with a male ROPER-surnamed descendant of this Edward C. ROPER? It would be very helpful to get a DNA test subject from this ROPER family for the ROPER DNA Study.
