    1. 1841 England Census Record of Nicholas ROPER (Chr 28 SEP 1792 - Saint Matthew, Walsall, Stafford, England)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Roper Classification: Census Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kgDBAEB/785.2.2.1 Message Board Post: In my previous Post, I identified Edwin ROPER (Chr 24 SEP 1817 - Saint Matthew, Walsall, Stafford, England) as the son of Nicholas ROPER and Sarah HANDY. This Post was intended to DISTINGUISH this Edwin ROPER from an Edward ROPER born about the same time. I have subsequently identified an 1841 England Census record showing Edwin ROPER residing in the household of his father Nicholas ROPER and brothers William and Nicholas ROPER, Jr.: Census of England -- 1841 New Street, Township of Walsall, Borough of Walsall, Staffordshire, England Household Number 1155, Enumeration District 8 TNA Ref. No. HO107-0983, Image No. 165, Folio No. 4\25, Page No. 9 Nicholas ROPER, Male, Age 45, "Curb? Chain m", Born within same County (Staffordshire) William ROPER, Male, Age 20, "Curb? Chain m", Born within same County (Staffordshire) Edwin ROPER, Male, Age 20, "Curb? Chain m", Born within same County (Staffordshire) Nicholas ROPER Jr., Male, Age 15, Saddler, Born within same County (Staffordshire) George ARNOLD, Male, Age 15, NOT Born within same County The original image of this Census record may be obtained online from at the subscription based web site of OriginsNetwork.com. The elder Nicholas ROPER, who is shown in the Census record to have been born about 1796 seems most likely to be the Nicholas ROPER born in Walsall to Joseph and Patience ROPER: Nicholas ROPER (Chr 28 SEP 1792 - Saint Matthew, Walsall, Stafford, England), son of Joseph and Patience ROPER [IGI Batch No. C010307]
