They lived very near the Roper's in the same area of Itawamba county that the land was bought. The little bit I've researched on them has told me that some of them were from South Carolina and the rest were from Georgia. I've also just about decided that this had to have been Berry Rogers that bought the land. I don't know who farmed it if anyone did. Itawamba county was pretty big on farming so someone probably did. The only thing I have about this Berry Roper is a land record that I ran into when searching for my ggggg grandfather Roper's first Itawamba land record. Will attach a scanned copy of it. The reason I'm so interested in who this was is because I know my James F. Roper moved from DeKalb county, Alabama to Itawamba county, Mississippi between 1850 and 1853. He appears in the 1850 DeKalb county census and then the 1853 Itawamba county, MS state census. There isn't a record of him buying land until September 27, 1857 when he bought 80 acres. The land wasn't adjacent to the Berry Roper land but was close enough for me to worry about. James Roper's land was located in section 28 of township 9, range 8. Berry's was located in township 7, range 7. I'm just trying to find some kind of lead on who my James F. Roper's parents were. Jon
