This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: ROPER, MOORE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kgDBAEB/814.1.1 Message Board Post: Unfortunately, I have little more information. I can add a few details....but minimal at best. I am doing this research for a patient of mine. She is 83 years old and wants to know something about her family history. Original post: I am looking for information on the following family:Roper married a Cecelia Jones. I do not know his first name. They had several children: Lula, Gertrude, Edda, Bob (Murray), Mack, J.C., Pearl, Ralph. Gertrude married a McGill, Lula married a Thompson, Pearl married an Anderson, Edda married a Moore then a Dowd then a Seburn. This informaiton is all word of mouth. Any information would be very appreciated. Thank you for your time. Additional information: I know that Edda was born Oct 13, 1907 possibly in Mississippi (mabe in Gulfport area). She died Nov 9, 1985 in Grapeland, Houston, TX. Her first husband was Andrew Jackson Moore. The married approximately 1921 probably in Texas when she was 14 years old. Their daughter Syble was born in Lampassas TX in 1923. Edda left Andy Moore about two years later. She married Waller A Dowd and had another child, a son by the name of JD in 1926. I don't know their date of marriage or divorce. She later married Jesse J Seburn and had three more children: David, Ruth and Elizabeth. I know that Edda and her mother lived around the West End area of Houston about 1940ish. I was told that they attended West End Presbyterian Church in Houston, TX which I cannot find. Other than that, I am lost. I have been unable to find them in the census records, etc. Like I said, this is word of mouth from an 83 year old patient of mine that I am trying to help find out about her family. I was hoping the combination of names would ring a bell for someone. Thanks for taking the time to read my posting. If you have any information or any ideas for me, I would be forever indebted to you.
