I gathered much new genealogical data and 9 Roper males living there agreed to test their Y-chromosomes. Results for 5 are in and 3 of them match 12 markers of the Majority USA Roper (MUR) family. This agrees with the genealogical data that indicates that the Massachusetts branch of MUR came from southern Norfolk in 1637. These 3 descend from Ropers in Thornham Magna, Woodbridge, and Eye in Suffolk and Bressingham, Norfolk, which is very near the Suffolk border. I call this expanded Roper family the Suffolk/USA Roper (SUR) family.
