ROPER, Wife, Married, Female, Age 27, Born Ipswich, Suffolk Kate ROPER, Daughter, Female, Age 10, Scholar, Born Ipswich, Suffolk Annie ROPER, Daughter, Female, Age 8, Scholar, Born Ipswich, Suffolk Harriett ROPER, Daughter, Female, Age 5, Scholar, Born Ipswich, Suffolk George ROPER, Son, Male, Age 4, Born Ipswich, Suffolk Harry ROPER, Son, Male, Age 5 Mos, Born Ipswich, Suffolk * * * Annie M. ROPER seems to be a little older (age 27) than would otherwise be suggested in the 1901 Census (age 34). It is unclear which of these ages is more reliable, though I have frequently observed a tendency for women to age less than ten years per decade after age thirty. Annie's 1871 and 1881 Census records may furnish some additional information.
