I do NOT believe that this John ROPER is likely to have been the son of David ROPER (b 29 Jun 1742 - VA). I have several hundred pages of untranscribed notes on the Edgefield ROPER family. I will try to work my way through these in the next few month. I still have quite a bit of additional material relating to the Brunswick ROPER family to post.
