The indicated date ranges seem to be the dates encompassed within the Volume rather than dates the Will was made or specifically proven. Several ROPER families seem to have settled within Alabama while it was still part of the Mississippi Territory at a very early date and some of these also seem to have later drifted up into Tennessee. Sorting out early Alabama ROPER family connections may assist in understanding some of the cloudy Tennessee ROPER connections, as well as connections back to Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
