Pat ftp seems to be passive, and there is no pw At the moment I am trying to find out the password on that account - finally figured out that the email address I used when I first set up the website, was my very first email address. I guess that I should be happy that it took 6 years for problems to develop. The files I am uploading are html (text) from my Frontpage program. The file names have no spaces that I know of. I know that it is not my firewall. I tried accessing via cmd & I can access, except again I need my password. We are going to try updating that ftp program that I use (but I need my password first!) It is on homepages, not freepages, and often when one is down the other isn't so it is possible that the two are independent of each other. In the meantime, I keep going through rootsweb mailing list archives to see if I can find ideas Thanks Mary ------------------------------- At 12:02 PM 12/26/2006, you wrote: >At 11:52 AM 12/26/2006, Crandall Family wrote: > >Rootsweb-help list: > > > >I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to upload pages to my site on > >homepages using the same ftp program that I have used for about 5 > >years (coffeecup). > >I can connect to rootsweb, but as soon as I do, I get an error message: > >426 failure writing network session > > >What are the settings you are using on your ftp program?
