    3. The sites are mirrored. Or at least they were. ;-) I'm about to believe my site's been hacked, which seems perfectly bizarre to be sure, but not nearly so bizarre as this being some action taken by Rootsweb without notifying me at all. The only way I discovered it was a routine attempt to upload files. This is just weird. Surely Rootsweb would've notified me of any problem and given some reason - or some instructions or something - before deleting files and changing permissions on the account. Wouldn't you think? Or if not, at least have notified me that they did it? I honestly think a hacker is more likely than that, don't you? -Sandy On Feb 6, 2007, at 3:17 PM, Hugh Watkins wrote: > On 2/6/07, Sandy <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> >> Thanks, Hugh. >> >> No, the url you've got is simply the list page for an email list. >> >> I've only got one RW webspace account: >> http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncvance/ >> snip > > > > Forbidden to me > You don't have permission to access /~ncvance/ on this server. > > > http://home.earthlink.net/~ncvance/ has a redirect > > did you put rdirect on rootsweb too > as thst is forbidden > > Hugh W > > > -Sandy >> >> >> On Feb 6, 2007, at 2:26 PM, Hugh Watkins wrote: >> >>> very unlikely >>> >>> one hardware failure a few yeasr ago cost some of us one days work >>> as they >>> reloaded a back up copy of the whole >>> >>> have you used the recover password facility via the help desk web >>> pages? >>> >>> I always copy paste my passwords from the old emails bacause they >>> are case >>> sensitive and strong >>> >>> please post the url of your site >>> or is it this another version >>> http://home.earthlink.net/~teylu/woodlist.html >>> >>> >>> >>> Hugh W >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> On 2/6/07, Sandy <[email protected]> wrote: >>>> >>>> >>>> Well, gee, in the meanwhile is it possible for me to get an answer >>>> here to my questions as to what might be causing this problem? >>>> >>>> Can some technical "glitch" in the server delete all the files from >>>> our accounts and re-set upload permissions "accidentally"?
