I was a little annoyed to find my frames pages at Ancestry.com screwed up. I have not started to fix it yet, but I have 'accidentally' come across a way round it. I have a number of web-sites - not all of them at Ancetry/Rootsweb. One of the sites I have ran out of space, so I moved the major part of the site (all genealogy related) to my Rootsweb site, using a re-direct page. So what I have is a frames based introduction page on another site with a link to all the other pages at Rootsweb. When I arrive at the site I find: The top menu frame is visible, then the main frame with the ancestry banner appears below it. - so if you put your frame page on another 'not Ancetry.com' site - all works well! I will now need to revisit on 'Main' Rootsweb site and copy my frame page to one of my other sites. If you want to see how it works see: http://www.dgnscrn.demon.co.uk/Chalmers/index.htm The top menu is on the above site - the main page, as you will see from the 'Ancestry.com' banner is at Rootsweb. Not in Firefox. Your top menu is barely visible. The banners on Rootsweb are a small price to pay for the space we are given. Thwarting those banners whether intentional or unintentional ends up punishing tose of us who do abide by the rules. If you don't want the banners on your site - move your site. I don't think he "thwarted" anything. The frame retrieved from RootsWeb still has the banner on it (at least I see it with IE6). All he's done is eliminate multiple banners. Unless there is something else in the Terms of Use that I am not aware of. But his solution does seem a little silly. If you are going to go to the trouble of involving a 2nd ISP just to launch your RootsWeb frames, why not just move everything there in the first place?
