Okay, http://www.rootsweb.com/~orotcdar/<http://www.rootsweb.com/~orotcdar/> is my website also. The pages just weren't being updated to the new information on this site. So maybe the server crash affected my files being upload. I was using Front Page on another computer when I created the above website. Now I'm using "Microsoft(r) Expression(r) Web Designer (EWD)" and used it to create www.rootsweb.com/~cajscdar<http://www.rootsweb.com/~cajscdar>. I was having problems using it to upload to the website, so I used "Core FTP Lite" to upload the files. In reading through the different ways to upload files, it said that I can use [username][password]@rootsweb or something like that. I was able to find the files under the parent directory this way. I guess the website crashed soon after that. Did I do it??? I surely hope not. There is an index page also uploaded. So what is the answer, should I try it again. Has anyone been using Expression? They don't even sell Front Page where I live now, or at least I couldn't find it. I know very little about web design and I'm trying my best. Alice, The one I use is ftp://users.rootsweb.com/public_html Then there is a place on most FTP programs to enter your "account name" and password. Web sites (everyone's) are housed on different servers, and one website can be housed on separate servers. I had this concerning ONE folder on my website, which was on a different server. All my images were loaded correctly, and linked right, but none showed - until I spoke to Ancestry-Rootsweb technical about another matter and mentioned my trouble with my RW website. The server my 1 folder was on had some sort of trouble. When they fixed the server, that folder worked. Sometimes you can find FP versions on Ebay (www.ebay.com), or LiveDeal ( www.livedeal.com), or you could try google for buy+Frontpage and it might pop up on another seller. Hi Alice, I have been using Expression Wen since it was first offered in Beta format and love it. It is a far better program and creates cleaner code and is much easier to work with style sheets. I ftp directly from EW. The only problem is that it will not remember you username and password. If you need help holler. You can also checkout http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gearyfamily/expression-web/ for some additional resources for using EW. There are two free ebooks offered - one for setting up Expression Web and one for using DWT's with EW. And lastly a tutorial on Publishing with EW. pat ---------- We discuss FrontPage and Expression Web http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gearyfamily/frontpage/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gearyfamily/expression-web/ Genealogy Web Design Tips and Tutorials http://www.genealogy-web-creations.com/ http://www.blog.family-genealogy-online.com/
