If I like this nifty shade of orchid or peach and specify, my son can't see the page because to him both colors are a shade of grey. If I get cute and use a pale pink bgcolor and a medium light green text, he's going to see grey on grey. If the only colors the visitor can see are on grey-scale, the visitor is a better judge of what he can see than I am. If you specify NO color at all not even white, then it is up to the viewer's browser and how he/she has it set what he/she sees OR what there eyes perceive. All I am saying is that if you don't specify a color no matter what color, it will be seen as maybe white or gray. But for those of us who do set our browsers at some weird color so that we are sure we set our own background color, it will be seen as that color. Your choice to set it or not. pat
