While I'm still not sold on the NO frames deal, I have made a start on the modifications to suit the Rootsweb setup. I have completed the ABC index group already. Some of the remaining page groups have very complex navigation, the most complex group being the Holywood pages at the end of the D--H index. I decided to tackle them next. Holywood comprises a group of 145 pages arranged in a number of separate but related themes. I have replaced the frames arrangement with multiple navigation bars. The use of FP includes has made the modifications easier but I would still like to be able to have the facility to keep at least one navigation bar fixed while the rest of the page scrolls. This facility is particularly useful when using a side located navigation bar with links to every theme within a site or sub-site. Maybe some whiz programmer can come up with a way of doing this that doesn't involve Frames. I would still be tempted to achieve this with Frames but the ugly truncated banner imposed by the server would spoil the overall appearance. Regards, Sandy

Sandy: Is there a reason why you are sticking with RootsWeb other than the fact that it is free (for now)? For all the work you are going to put into this, would it be worth it just to move your site to a provider that won't put banners on your webpages? Yes, you might have to pay $100/year for such a site, but with all the hoops you are jumping thru, it might be worth it. -- Dennis Kowallek Cincinnati, Ohio [email protected] ******************
