I haven't seen anyone post this yet. Just a reminder, the year is about to change so websites should change too (yeah, more work LOL). 1. Update your copyright notice to include the coming year. I'll never forget how much easier it was when I learned on these lists about using "includes". 2. Check that your E-mail is correct on your webpages. 3. If your snail address is on your web, did you move this year but still want people to be able to write to you via US Mail? 4. Delete from your web all those practice and test pages and junk you don't need anymore. I move this stuff to a folder in My Documents till I decide if I want to save any of it. 5. If you put a year on a robot tag, think about changing the content to no expire on your robots tag -- that saved me a lot of year-end updating because I had an expire date there at first. Make it really easy and tell it to go ahead and cache, not to expire, and to crawl everything. End-of year is also a good time to finally change those boo-boos. Did you put a page singly when you think it now needs to be in a folder with other pages on the same topic? Now is as good a time as any to fix (move or delete) your boo-boos, and make things more organized. Don't worry about Google page-rank... I found it was only a passing ouch and Google quickly re-found the page whereever I put it. The only thing Google seems unable to find are sock mates that go into the washer but only 1 sock comes out. ;-) Also a good time to send out a notice to people who are interested in "your stuff". Let them know your site is still there, expanding, etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting something.... Happy (working) holidays! Judy
