    3. Hi Charles, Unfortunately Outlook Express is long gone - replaced by Windows Mail in Vista and now by Windows Live Mail in Win 7. Outlook Express was last offered as part of IE6 and is not available separately. Supposedly Windows Live Mail can import Outlook Express files and aeems to be an OK replacement for OE except it doesn't support multiple Identities. Also, from what I read, Office 2003 will run on Windows 7 and that includes Outlook 2003 if you want to go that route.. I'm in the same boat as I'll eventually have to move from Win XP to Windows 7. I use and like OE and have my email archives since 1998 set up as seperate Identities in OE. I've been looking but still don't know what I'm going to use for an OE replacement when the time comes. Good luck. 3. Thunderbird (the email program that goes with Firefox, but is downloaded separately) will import Outlook Express messages with it's wizard when you first install it. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_from_Outlook_Express The free program can be downloaded from http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ Thunderbird lets you set up multiple identities and pick the one you want to use when replying to a message. It lets you filter messages into folders, check spelling, etc. Susan Jim Rickenbacker(3) wrote: > Hi Charles, > Unfortunately Outlook Express is long gone - replaced by Windows Mail in > Vista and now by Windows Live Mail in Win 7. 3. Susan, Joyce, Jim and All, Thanks for the great advice. I just downloaded Thunderbird and it is already up and running. That was fast! This is exactly what I wanted. It replaces Outlook nicely. As I said earlier, I'm glad I found this email list. It is nice to get real answers!!! My next task will be to get my old computer running enough to copy the emails to a CD. (the HD is failing) I printed the instructions from the link. That task will have to wait. 3. Jim, Office 2007 supports multiple identities and will import email messages, archives and contact lists from OE and previous versions of Office. I believe it also will import from some other programs, but I've not used any others so couldn't swear to it. Office 2003 does work in Windows 7 - I installed it on a new computer for my parents just last week. It may import OE messages and archives, I didn't check as they'd always used AOL mail so it wasn't an issue for me. If you need it checked, I'll be returning to their house sometime in the next week to finish setting up their DSL connection.
