You're absolutely right - and I do most sincerely apologize for not removing this before sending to this list. [my lame excuse - totally frustrated being unable to locate that extraneous "] NOW please let me hear any thoughts on what to use in place of this obviously out-dated method. Ann, That's ok, I've just not seen it on whole pages. I've seen the right-click disabled on images before. As far as methods to protect pages or images, like I said, people on this list and on freepages have commented before that if anyone really wants to copy your work, they will find a way. Since this page is mostly text, it's super easy to copy -- I'd just highlight the whole page, hit Ctl+C, open Notepad and hit Ctl+V and I've got all your words. And if I wanted it all, I could use the other methods I described. Maybe the blocking had a bigger purpose years ago, but people have gotten smarter and it's just so easy to copy ~anything~ from any website. After the Lists talked about the uselessness of using it, I just got rid of the right-click code. I don't think there are any other methods to replace it. Maybe think about what you want to protect and why. Then decide if you really want to share it. If sharing is your goal, then right-click scripts aren't needed. If you really don't want something to be copied ever, right-disable isn't going to stop someone. So I've chosen to not share certain (more personal) info and photos of my family. I think I've also included a blurb about contact me if you want to use a large chunk of my info---but even that doesn't mean the person will ask permission. If you are trying to block visitors from copying your text and/or images -- you can't. To view your page, your visitor must download a copy of everything that appears on the page to their computer so it can be displayed in their browser. Turning off right-click is an inconvenience if they want to save a copy, but there are several ways around it. Some browsers allow you to save a copy of all associated files when you save a web page. You can use the drop down menu to view source, then go directly to the image file on the server and save that. You can do a screen capture. You can locate the file that was used for display in your temporary internet files and save a copy to another location. In other words, if it is important to you that it not be copied by someone else, don't put it on the web ;) Pat Asher
