    3. Thank you, Jim. Here is a little more info. Dpi options 96 120 custom it is set at 96 dpi Resolution Highest is 1280x800 -- this is where it is set now I switched it 1 hash-mark lower-- the font is getting bigger but not much darker (bigger is not what I need. I need darker and less dots in letters) I switched it 1 more hash-mark lower-- the font is unusually and horribly big and bold I didn't measure but the laptop screen looks like a 15 or 15+ inch wide. So is there a combination of dpi and resolution that i could try? Excuse my missing caps on "i". Sometimes the i+shift doesn't make a capital. One more thing to get fixed. Sigh. 1. [ROOTSWEB-HELP] Which upload client is best?

    3. Hello again, I need to buy a new FTP program. I have always used WS FTP but they are getting pricey. I am looking at Cute Home version. I have never used it. I talked to their Rep today and the Rep said Cute Home version would be just fine for me. I have been changing the html in a very large web site so both Fire Fox and I.E.8 browsers can read it equally well. I'm using WS 995 right now but it is limited. I have about 5,000 pages to upload. I'm afraid I'd be a long time uploading the new site using WS 995 (a free program). Expression Web 3 has a built in FTP program but it is like reading Latin to me. Any ideas? Charles

    3. Judy, 1280x800 sounds like a widescreen. 96 dpi is pretty standard. You could try 120 but that should only make the font bigger. It probably won't help your problem. Unfortunately, it sounds like a hardware problem to me. When I set a Windows Explorer window to 1280x800 I get 39 lines of text (files list) which works out to just about 20 screen lines per line of text. A lower case "l" takes up about half of that or 10 screen lines. If you're only getting 5 dots per lower case "l" it sounds like the display is skipping every other screen line. I don't know of any display setting that can do that.so think it must be a hardware problem. I'd consider returning the laptop if that's possible.
