    3. Thanks Jim for your quick response. I tried that and the line shows as thick black line in the HTML editor preview, but in all the browsers I tried (Firefox, IE8.0,Chrome, Opera, Safari) the line was transparent, not black. Although it did pass the HTML validation test. I thought it was perhaps because I was using HTML 4.01 for the Document type, but after testing it in XHTML 1.0 I found the same thing.It shows in the preview but does not show as black in the browsers rather it is a transparent line. The more pixels you set the height to, the bigger the transparent line box. If only it would fill up!
