    3. We've all heard it before, "Change subject lines when replying to Digest Mail". "If you get single message E-Mails, seeing a long list of new E-mails with only digest numbers gets aggravating and isn't informative." We've all done it: hit reply to or reply to all and not review the Subject Line. Reasons this happens include: 1. People don't normally read backwards. Our eyes saw the Subject before we opened the mail and our eyes focus only on the blank space where we type our reply. We learn to read top to bottom, right to left. So, blame how our brains and eyes work. 2. Some E-mail programs (gmail is an example) doesn't show the Subject Line on a reply unless you aim your pointer at one short link to open the mail's top. So, blame your E-mail program. 3. We just forget to look 'up' and check the whole E-mail, as we'd do if holding a newly typed letter on paper. So, blame technology's influences of "type 'n go". Maybe "Send" should be a 2-click process of "Review" then "Send". Possibily by the next generation, we'll have re-trained human's brains and eyes to work better with these newfangled computers. And maybe computer developers will find better designs for E-mail heads. I always say I need a secretary. If I had one, I could blame him for not (re-)checking the Subject Line on each E-mail. :-D Judy
