Gordon, How did you upload your files? Are you familiar with ftp? I'm not familiar with the Betsy's Really Basic help. You need an ftp client (unless you have a PC with the FrontPage version that came with Windows 98) to up and download. Go to http://www.download.com and download any ftp program. I use Cuteftp. After you install it, you'll need to connect to your files on Rootsweb. To do this, you click on "add site" and then name your site (site label) something like Morris or genealogy or rootsweb. Then put in the host address which is http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~gamorris . Your computer is the local; theirs is remote. You should have your user ID and password from Rootsweb. Then connect and find your index file (or others) to download. Read the help information to learn how to download more than one file at once. You need a place for the files to go when you download. What will you be using to work with .html pages offline? You can download to your hard drive anywhere but you need to remember where you put it. When you go to upload the changed file, you'll want to set your local settings to pull directly from that folder to save you time in the future. If you've never done this before, it sounds much more complicated than it is. Take it one step at a time and you'll be working in a couple hours. Please write personally if you need help with any steps.
