Thanks Rich for your prompt reply. I went there and got some helpful hints. I still have the CD, but thought there was a printed manual on getting started, which I couldn't find. My problem is that there are multiple choices. What I need is a "map" of which fork in the road to take each time. That's what I meant by simple 1-2-3 directions. When the site opens it gives 4 choices, which do I take? Of course it depends on my goal, which is to scan one page of typewritten text and save it as a file. I was hoping someone could tell me and save a lot of trial and error. Thanks so much for your help. John New Orleans
