Has anyone on this list upgraded to windows XP. If so, how is it performing so far? In comparison to 98, 2000, ME? Carmen Finley

Carmen, the Computer Shopper had a recent article on Windows XP (Bill and Alice's column). Bill had difficulty with XP and ended up having to buy some new cards and equipment. Also, it conflicted with Netscape. Another little shenanigan pulled by Microsoft to monopolize the market. Can't remember all the details but I ended up with a negative view of XP. ME has been an improvement for me, but here, too, I had to reinstall several programs from other companies. Wordperfect, Netscape and Omnipage. ME tried to convert me to an all Microsoft environment but I was able to work around it without having to upgrade any equipment or software. If you can handle the idiosyncrasies of Microsoft's dominance, you would be okay, otherwise proceed with caution with XP. Norma Jennings
