It all has to do with time zones. The FTP server on RootsWeb's machines report timestamps in Mountain Standard Time (USA). If you're east of there timewise (including Europe and even Australia), then there's no problem. If you're west of there (California, Alaska, Hawaii, and all Pacific locations up to the International Date Line), then your file might appear to be newer than the one on the RootsWeb server. In WS_FTP, you can set a "timezone offset" in your connection profile in WS_FTP that should prevent this problem. Regards, Elsi

    3. I don't see time zones being the problem. I live in SD (Mountain time), have been here 10 yrs, haven't made any clock adjustments to my computer or any changes at all to WS-FTP options. I found the file with a 3/12 upload date at about 3 pm on 3/11, so we have a 9+ hr jump in the time. Might make sense if I lived in Bangkok, but I don't :-) This is also something that has just started happening in the last week or two. Love these little gremlins running loose <VBG> Nel
