Would someone mind taking a look at the html on the following link > http://www.rootsweb.com/~ausygs/ <<<<<, and tell me what it is I need to add/change in order for the web page itself to be found in the results of a search engine. It is the web page for Yarram Genealogy Group . If I enter "Yarram Genealogy " into a search engine I get results showing other genealogy groups etc. They are shown as hyperlinks and Yarram Genealogy included in the text for that. I`ve no problems with that as obviously Yarram Genealogy is mentioned in that particular web page. What I would like is for the Yarram Genealogy Group to be shown as a hyperlink so searchers can go straight to that page ? TIA Batesy

Most search engines list sites in order of: 1) words matching 2) number of hits made to that site (popularity) Get all your members to visit the site regularly and then you'll see it get to number 1 in the Yarram top-ten. There's nothing wrong with your code! Other suggestions - join lots of newsgroups - and advertise there! I run the Central Scotland FHS site, and I e-mailed GENUKI, Rootsweb, Cyndie's Pages, EVERY Scottish FHS, the GENBRIT newsgroup (which has hundreds, if not thousand of subscribers).... and some more, when I set the site up originally - then when we moved to our new site at: http://www.csfhs.org.uk/ - (yes, even our own name now) - I sent out another e-mail to all those places/people again! Write to all your OZ-FHS's and get a link there - the more links, the more people will find you!
