    3. I have always found Ancestry.com to be one of the most ethical sites on the Internet. I would not fear giving them a credit card number over a secure transmission. Without a credit card number to guarantee the payment of their merchandise, you would have the alternative to wait until they received payment after your check cleared, before shipping the merchandise. Is that what you prefer?? Delayed Shipping. I am probably ultraconservative when it comes to giving out information to unknown vendors and companies, but Ancestry has been around a long time and I purchased things to my satisfaction from them before their Internet days so they are one of the most trusted sources on my list.. 3. Look at it this way: If I mail a check and I have problems with the vendor, there are half-dozen different state and/or national organizations who want to hear about it, and who have the clout to fix it -- starting with the Postal Inspector. But, if I put my plastic # on-line and have a problem, there are far fewer organizations who handle complaints of that nature and generally, vendor disputes just don't rise to the level of my filing a police complaint. To me, that's worth the extra couple weeks. Cheryl At 01:51 PM 05/31/2001 -0500, Norma F. Jennings wrote: >I have always found Ancestry.com to be one of the most ethical sites on the Internet.
