WHAT?!!!!! I understood that if the owner DIED, their page stays there forever. Not if the page dies when its owner's e-mail account does! I don't think so! Cut the crap, and leave the web sites alone. If you can't contact the owner, too bad. Unless something specific is wrong with the site. Donna, The previous "count" has to be stored somewhere so a new visitor can be added to it, then delivered to your page using the script supplied by the creator of the counter. A script of your own design (or CSS) can't do that -- unless you are running your own server. Pat A.
I should have added more information to my query that I sent earlier. I use Dreamweaver CS5 as my website designer. I need to create a counter that counts all the different computer ID'S that look at the pages. I have seen lots of them, but they are embed with links to other sites or have images. I want just the number of users to show up on the page. If anyone could help with some java script or CSS code, it would appreciated. List Readers, I am in need of the code for a counter that is not an image. I would like for it to count every user, but not every click. And can someone tell me how to make a counter image like the ones shown on the Roots Web counter page validate in XHTML 1.0 Transitional? http://counter.rootsweb.com/ Thanks, Donna Cooper
