If so the following article may be of help: http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/kb/1624hq.html If not being sent and not involving a stray filter then this article may be of help: http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/kb/2067hq.html It seems I've seen this problem posted over on the Eudora newsgroup: news:comp.mail.eudora.ms-windows or via this link: http://www.newsreaders.com/link/link.cgi?group=comp.mail.eudora.ms-windows&faq=http://wso.williams.edu/~eudora/ I think??? they were advised to delete the Out.toc, ***not*** Out.mbx. Reopen Eudora and open the Out box. It will create a new index or what ever???? However, I believe this was for a corrupted mailbox and the fact you can get into your Out box probably means it is not corrupted????? The In, Out and Trash mailboxes are "loaded into memory" when Eudora is accessed - they are primary mailboxes soooo I'd be a bit leery of deleting both files involved in mailboxes (*.toc and *.mbx). Nowwwww pleaseeeeee, don't do this until you hear from someone with more Eudora knowledge. 3. I would suggest you disable ZoneAlarm as it is the most likely cause of the blocking. I had much the same problem and found that completely uninstalling ZoneAlarm Pro and reinstalling it reset the defaults and cleared my problem. Like you, I am also on DSL but through a router. I very much doubt that IE 6.0 or your ISP is the cause. Robert H. 3. Gordon, I think the problem lies here: >>230 User wakcegs logged in. >>CWD /public_html/egs >>550 /public_html/egs: No such file or directory. The remote default directory in FTP is probably set to: public_html/egs It should read: public_html >From the log file, CWD means change directory. The server attempts to find the directory egs, nestled under public_html but it does not exist as shown in the log file. On a side note, unix servers are case sensitive. If your directory was named Egs, filling in a directory of egs wouldn't get you there. As for this toward the bottom of the log file: > LIST > ! Receive error: Blocking call cancelled > > ! Retrieve of folder listing failed (0) I'm not sure what is causing this, but suspect Zone Alarm. Try disabling it when you upload. 3. >Are there anyone? >I would like to visit those sits to learn how CSS works. I spent a few months last summer converting the main library site to CSS and XHTML, and I've just started on my local history and genealogy site. First I would recommend you get a copy of Eric Meyer's _Cascading Style Sheets: The Definitive Guide_, another excellent book from O'Reilly. It goes into detail on how CSS is supposed to work, how it is actually implemented in current (as of May 2000) browsers, and is clearly-written enough to be understood even after you've been up way too much with a baby. :-) The first edition did not have any CSS2-capable browsers to work with, but if you're trying to design a site which is fairly compatible with Netscape 4.x, you can't use the more advanced features anyway. He has links to online CSS resources at <http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/references/> as well as some demonstrations of how far you can push CSS if you want to live on the edge. I think it's generally worthwhile to use CSS rather than all the <font> tags and HTML hacks used on a lot of sites. I'm still learning a few quirks as I try to conform to the "strict" way of doing things, e.g. you don't use <br> to add extra space between paragraphs or whatever; you use CSS margin controls to increase the distance between blocks. 3. OK, I think I fixed the problem. I removed and re-loaded WS_FTP LE. I then re-entered all the parameters in both the FTP session properties box at start-up and in the options box including "Use Passive Transfer Mode" in the Sessions tab. I don't even pretend to know just what the problem was, but now it works. Thanks to those who replied both to me directly and through this forum. I have always received help here when needed. 3. It's been quite a while ago, but I had a similar thing happen to me. It was really strange, because it happened when I tried to upload images to my homepages account. The images would not fully load. I could still upload to my www account. My ISP couldn't duplicate it, so they thought it was my problem. (in other words, I didn't know what I was talking about and I must have a screw loose somewhere. <g>) Then it happened when I tried uploading files to my account on their server. They decided that 'they' had the problem after all. I don't know what they ended up doing, but I think it was something in the router or modem settings where I dialed in to connect. They had installed both of them shortly before this happened, and it took them about three months before they decided it was a problem after all. Once it was 'their' problem, it took about 10 minutes and they had it fixed. 3. Gordon, I have a *similar* problem, but not exactly the same as yours. I am not using a "new" computer or operating system (same old Win98SE that came with my Dell HP266 many years ago). I am using WS-FTP Pro for uploads. I recently upgraded to ZoneAlarm 3.0. I recently upgraded to IE 6.0. I have a DSL connection with SBC. Whenever I attempt to upload files to my "homepages" at RootsWeb, or to my family site at MyFamily.com, I frequently (more often than not) "time out" and get the following message: > ! Receive error: Blocking call cancelled I also get other error messages on different occasions but I don't remember what they were right now. Usually I am able to upload 20% of my file very quickly and then it stalls for several minutes until I get the time out message. The bottom line is, I don't know what *MY* problem is. I'm sure that the problem is not with Ancestry/RootsWeb, because they don't have problems. Therefore, it has to be me. I didn't have these problems before the upgrades listed above. In fact, everything was "great" and I "loved" it. Who is to blame for my recent problems? Is it ZoneAlarm Pro 3.0? Is it IE 6.0? Is it my ISP? Is it me? Do I need to change some settings somewhere that I don't know about? Gordon, these questions aren't directed at you personally, so don't feel obligated to reply. They are directed at everyone reading this message who may have some answers for me. Your right, it is to the left in NS but centered in IE. I just copy/paste the code for it from your page: <P ALIGN="center"> <FORM> <SELECT NAME="site" SIZE="1"> <OPTION VALUE="">Volume List <OPTION VALUE="">1 = 1906-1913 <OPTION VALUE="">2 = 1907-1915 <OPTION VALUE="">3 = 1915-1928 <OPTION VALUE="">4 = 1926-1953 </OPTION> </OPTION> </OPTION> </OPTION> </OPTION> </SELECT> </FORM> </P> into a test page in my FP. Cheryl- Have you tried resorting the board messages to display in DATE EXPANDED format? This will bring all of the new posts to the top of the board even if they were responses to long-ago posts. This works for me in getting them all displayed. I never rely on searches--and don't find the search engine to work all that well in isolating the newer posts. Joan

    3. In the past two days I've gotten two sets of Notifications, all claiming to be for my wvhampsh board, totalling 8 or 9 messages. When I go over, I can find only 3 messages dated April. When I do a search for all messages posted within the past 3 days, I get 0 hits. It's happened once or twice before, when there were a lot fewer posts. Presumably if I just clicked on the link, it would work, but I don't read e-mail in the browser, so I can't just click. Generally, just going to the board as a visitor shows me the posts, but yesterday and today, it's just not working. Is anyone else noticing anything? 1. [RW-Help] Unable to access ftp
    2. Jack Martin
    3. I recently became webmaster for the Terrell County Texas webpage. I have maintained another webpage for a few years using File Manager but I would like to learn to use ftp. When I try to access users.rootsweb.com I keep getting a message that the page is not available. I checked with my ISP and they have no problem accessing the site. I am able to access it from a friend's computer so I know I have the correct password etc. Any ideas why I can't access it from my home computer? I use Windows 98 if that helps. thanks, Jack Martin
