Insert the include using <!--#include virtual="header2.txt"--> making use to include enough ../ for the difference in the levels where the header file is located in relation to the page you are inserting it in. You can try just deleting the code before and including the opening body tag and after and including the closing body tag and then inserting the header2.htm but I am not sure it will work like that. When I look at your source code, I see all the code for the include including the doctype and head section. pat

I see the statement about demanding a refund on http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~itgenweb/ - I got there from http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~okdewey/cem/ (which seems to have a problem, too). It won't show up. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~okdewey/cem/vassar/header2.htm Rootsweb.Ancestry says: "We're sorry. Y'all Thanks for the info on includes. BUT, the links are in the header and they show up just fine. It is the text that includes "demand a refund" that disappears. Check the URLs in the links that don't work on the ~mocharit web site. In the 1883 link you mispelled ~mocharit just as you did in your note below. On the 1896 index page the URLs for the index photos both refer to the index page itself and not the individual index photos. Hi Tim, Relative links start from where you are, and include only the information necessary to find the page relative to your (the browser's) current location, e.g. from your web account index page, you might link to a href="images/image01.jpg" where images is a subdirectory in your account. An absolute link contains the entire address so the page can be found anywhere on the web, e.g. a href="http://your_web_host.com/your_account_name/images/image01.jpg" See http://freepages.computers.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pasher/links.htm Pat
You mistyped a letter in the URL. You put in an "l" rather than an "h." Try http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mocharit/ & http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mocharit/books/Chariton_and_Howard_Co_1883_History_of.htm Offhand, I didn't see anything wrong with this one: a href="http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mocharit/books/Chariton_County_Missouri_1896_1Cover.JPG These two, however, are wrong: They should have index_ in front of the page numbers a href="http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mocharit/books/Chariton_County_Missouri_1896_247.JPG a href="http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mocharit/books/Chariton_County_Missouri_1896_248.JPG But, just for the heck of it, try changing the URLs so they are relative. Everything is in the same folder and there's no reason to have a fully qualified URL. Make them: a href="Chariton_County_Missouri_1896_1Cover.JPG" a href="Chariton_County_Missouri_1896_index_247.JPG" a href="Chariton_County_Missouri_1896_index_248.JPG" John In loving memory of our son, Brennan. 11/10/88-5/31/01. http://John.EssexCountyMA.net/Brennan Massachusetts Vital Records Project Administrator - http://MA-VitalRecords.org USGenWeb County Coordinator Essex County, MA - http://EssexCountyMA.net USGenWeb Town Coordinator Ipswich, Essex, MA - http://Ipswich.EssexCountyMA.net > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: [ROOTSWEB-HELP] Added new pages to Chariton Co Mo website > From: "kk" <[email protected]> > Date: Tue, April 01, 2008 8:42 am > To: <[email protected]> > 1.
