Now that you describe what you did, Dale, I think that's what I did - used my Mac, and used iMovie and iDVD. Made it easy. I did some work on this recently. Searching the web, I found there are some add-ons for power point. Most sites suggested using screen capture. I use both Mac and Pc. This task was easy to complete using the Mac. As all the need utilites are part of the operating system and I have MS Office for Mac. First I found MS office for Mac has an option to record power point to video. Power point wanted to use an older version of Quicktime. That ended that idea. Next I used screen capture. Set power point to display full screen. Waited for a time when the house was quiet, so I could use the built in mic to capture the sound. Sound can also be captured using a jumper from the speaker to mic jacks. I was very happy with the results. Used Imovie to edit the captured video and Idvd to burn the project to DVD. All this can be done with the right software on a PC. You might be able to set Movie Maker to capture the sound using your external mic or a jumper from speaker to mic jacks. Has anyone on this list had any experience converting PowerPoint, with narration, to DVD? I tried importing PowerPoint into Windows Live Movie Maker, but the sound does not import (I have windows 7). Is there another way to do it? I know there are some converter packages which are a little pricey and I don't mind that if I know it will really work. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks Jim for your quick response. I tried that and the line shows as thick black line in the HTML editor preview, but in all the browsers I tried (Firefox, IE8.0,Chrome, Opera, Safari) the line was transparent, not black. Although it did pass the HTML validation test. I thought it was perhaps because I was using HTML 4.01 for the Document type, but after testing it in XHTML 1.0 I found the same thing. It shows in the preview but does not show as black in the browsers rather it is a transparent line. to what are you referring?; are you referring to your website? - if so, what's the URL; maybe then the problem could be seen & someone could help you. are you referring to this list? - it's been quiet for a while; if you're curious re. this, you can go to the Rootsweb archives to check on this list. are you referring to your e-mail program? - gmail can be set to medium; that's where I have mine and only rarely do I find a good e-message in the junk folder.
